Care
Thrives in well-drained, lean-to-fertile soils. Requires excellent drainage to successfully overwinter and avoid crown rot. Avoid over-fertilizing, as too many nutrients can reduce aromatic essential oils and cause the compact habit to split or become floppy.
Maintenance
Monitor for powdery mildew during exceptionally humid conditions. Deadhead spent flower spikes throughout the peak summer season to promote continuous, heavy reblooming until fall. Stop all deadheading by mid-to-late summer if you wish to let seeds develop.
Cleanup
Leave the top growth completely intact through the winter to shield the crown from excessive freezing moisture. Cut old stems back by one-third or down to 2–3 inches in early spring once new growth emerges at the base.
Notes
Part of the compact POQUITO series bred by Terra Nova Nurseries. Features highly aromatic, licorice-scented emerald foliage and dense, exceptionally long-lasting terminal flower clusters. Can be used in containers or border fronts.
